Old Field Golf is a modern golf experience with historic roots — set in the open pastureland next to Colin Creek in Mocksville, NC. Named after the area’s earliest identity, “Mock’s Old Field,” this is golf built with intention, simplicity, and soul — where families, players, and neighbors are all welcome.

Before Mocksville was a town, it was known as “Mock’s Old Field,” a quiet meeting ground during colonial times and one of the first settled areas in Davie County. It’s where stories were shared and paths were made — even Daniel Boone once walked these hills. We’re just trying to keep that same spirit alive.

More Than Golf

Once home to Dallas Jones’ homemade driving range — just a preacher with an open field and a few shag bags — this land has always made room for people. Old Field is our version of that tradition. Simple. Soulful. Intentional.

This is a place to gather, to walk, to play — and to remember where we came from while building something new.

“Folk Style Golf Architecture is informed by the land. It is an inspired use of the geography to help the architect tell the story to the golfer …

… a story crafted from the unique characteristics from the surrounding area.

It takes what the land gives and creates utility, prioritizing the useful over the decorative.”
