The Course

A folk style gem in the NC Triad.

Before Mocksville, NC was a town, it was known as “Mock’s Old Field” — a quiet meeting ground during colonial times and one of the first settled areas in Davie County. Stories were shared here, paths were made, and in the 1750s, Daniel Boone’s family settled here.

In more recent memory, this land was home to Dallas Jones’ homemade driving range — just a local preacher, an open field, and a few shag bags. For generations, it has always made room for people. Old Field is our way of carrying that tradition forward: simple, soulful, intentional.

Opening October 2025, Old Field will feature a community-focused six-hole short course designed by Smyers, Craig, and Coyne, a 20,000 sq. ft. Himalayan-style putting course, and a driving range — all set in the rolling pastureland of Davie County. Built for walkers, families, and purists alike, it’s golf in its purest, most welcoming form: connecting the game with community.

Located just 30 minutes from Winston-Salem and one hour north of Charlotte, Old Field sits beside the Olive Tree Restaurant, offering a full menu plus beer and wine. We’re here to bring you golf that’s high-quality, fairly priced, and refreshingly down-to-earth. Become a founding member — click here to join today.
